In doing so, the installation management contract supports the following management vision:

🔶 Work and management are carried out on the basis of:

• the objectives of the city
• the strategic objectives of the public space
• an integrated approach with an eye to the future

🔶 Costs, risks and performance of the assets are periodically weighed against each other

We use this to arrive at well-motivated management and maintenance choices.

Performance is differentiated on the basis of the importance of the assets to the city. See the image below, the movable bridges in Zaanstad. Not every bridge is equally important for shipping traffic and for navigation.

🔶 All relevant asset data (year of construction, location, technical lifespan, etc.) and maintenance data (preventive maintenance data, fault data and inspection results) is complete and reliable and secured in systems. Among others in an OBS and in Clarify.

🔶 The municipality (client) is ‘in control’ because:

it directs the work in good cooperation with the contractor and looks ahead; the greatest risks are known and the necessary (maintenance) measures to mitigate these risks to an acceptable level are transparently secured
