The desire to be able to process sewage sludge for longer

Our client NV Slibverwerking Noord-Brabant (SNB) in Moerdijk has plans to keep processing sewage sludge for longer than originally intended. Demand for sustainable sludge processing will only increase in the coming years. SNB has set up its plant so that it is ready for the future; sludge incineration plays a crucial role in the transition to a circular society.

To keep the plant — originally designed for 25 years — operating well beyond that period, a service-life extension study was carried out. On the technical side, SNB, together with AMBC (Asset Management and Business Consultancy), calculated the service-life extension on the basis of risk management.

To carry out the complex calculations for the extended life cycle, SNB used the software of Clarify Risk Management.
